You might have heard about a little show called Veep on HBO that has swept the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress for its entire five years on the air. It’s hard to miss what with all its critical praise. And the Julia Louis-Dreyfus starrer has only gained steam over the course of its run, picking up two Emmys for Outstanding Comedy Series for its fourth and fifth seasons.

Centered on Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), the, fortunately,  fictional Vice President of the United States, Veep tracks the day-to-day whirlwind of the VP and her team as they navigate D.C.’s political chessboard. Often, Selina and her team find themselves in the midst of the chaos, if not creating it.

The political satire boasts one of the most tactful ensembles and some of the sharpest jokes on television. Considering we have been caught up in a rather intense election year, we could all blow off some steam with the crazier, and admittedly funnier, political circus of Veep.
