Another product of the Amazon Studios pilot season cycle, Mad Dogs premiered its pilot in 2015 and unrolled its first season for streaming the following year. Although Amazon ultimately chose against ordering a second season of the darkly comedic thriller, which is a remake of a British series, the series stands out.

Mad Dogs barrels in as a seeming hybrid of The Hangover and Man vs. Wild as a group of 40-something men travel to Belize for a celebration of one of their own’s retirement, and the gathering flies off the rails. What had been intended as a vacation quickly turns into a nightmare after they become caught up in a whirlwind of chaos, secrets, and murder. For a wild ride of 10 episodes, these “mad dogs” wreak havoc in Belize and try to make it out alive.
