The Boys is based on the graphic novels of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. However, it is only loosely based. The characters are (mostly) the same, but the storylines have some slight twists. And that’s a good thing, giving new life to the series and bringing it into the current day.

Overall, the series is fast-paced, full of action, and definitely full of excellent character development. The writing is on point and funny when it needs to be, but there’s also plenty of focus given to the main characters of the series. Introducing the vigilante group one person at a time also helped to give us time to get to know individuals before being thrown into the big war.

Now we have plenty of questions for Season 2. The second season was confirmed ahead of the first season debut on Amazon Prime Video. We’ll see if the show gets to move up the list then.
