Vikings is based on the legends and stories of Ragnar Lothbrok, one of the most well-known Norsemen and Vikings in history. Ragnar lived during the 13 century, which is when the series is set.

Vikings follows Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), his men, and family as they raid English and French villages.

The series has seen almost nothing but positive reviews since the show premiered on the History Channel in 2013. In its first three seasons, Vikings has also been nominated for six Primetime Emmys.

Vikings season 5 part 2 was added to Amazon Prime Video in April 2019.
