There are many spy dramas out there and sometimes it can be hard to keep track. However, Counterpart is one of those dramas that immediately interested fans of the genre as a whole. It was smart, unique, and entertaining to watch.

We got the chance to see J.K. Simmons’ acting skills. He doesn’t just play one character, but two versions of the same character—and the only person he can trust is himself. Yet, when they’re not on screen together, you can always tell them apart. There are little signs that point to whether you’ve got the Prime version of Howard Silk or not.

Overall, the series was smartly written. It’s a shame that it was on STARZ and not Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. I think if the series had landed on the right streaming service from the beginning, it wouldn’t have been canceled after two seasons. And that’s why it doesn’t make it higher on the list. It’s not a complete series, but it an excellent one to watch.
