40. The Feed
1 Season
Created by Channing Powell, based on the novel by Nick Clark Windo
Starring Michelle Fairley, Guy Burnet, Nina Toussaint-White, David Thewlis
Technology is growing at an exponential rate. People are finding ways to place tech safely in pets (microchipping for safety) and The Feed opens the idea of putting what is pretty much a chip in the brain. This chip allows people to share memories, feelings, and much more with those around them.
While the technology sounds great, there is always the potential for danger. Which is something this series focuses on. The Hatfield family has to figure out why people are murdering without really meaning to. Who is hacking into their feeds and forcing them to do things they wouldn’t usually do?
Within the dangers of the technology, there’s also a story of family. The Hatfields are driven apart from the events happening around them, divided on how to deal with the situation. And then there’s the fact that one member of the family is using the technology to spy on others.
At the same time, there’s a movement to remove the technology, completely against the feeds. When you see what could happen, it’s easy to understand why people are against it.
The series is in limbo at the moment. With plenty of source material still available, there’s hope that a second season will happen.
