If you’re in the mood for more from the crude but hilarious talking teddy bear, you’re in luck. Ted is back. The new series is a prequel to the movies, with Seth MacFarlane voicing the bear again.

We’re heading back to a 16-year-old John Bennett, as he navigates high school and all the firsts that come with that time of life. Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately, at times) he has his trusted best friend by his side. Ted is sure to create problems, but he’s also that friend that you need when it comes to gaining confidence and loyalty.

We’ll also get to meet John’s parents and cousin, Blaire. While his parents are just as quirky as we’d expect, Blaire is a great grounding voice in the story. You’ll certainly want to head to Peacock right now to binge the series.

Could we see Ted come to DVD and Blu-ray?

Of course, you already have the two movies on DVD and Blu-ray. Now you’ll want to add the Ted prequel series to your collection. Is that going to be possible?

It’s hard to say. Peacock has released some shows, such as Bel-Air on DVD and Blu-ray in the past. It’s not done this with all originals, though. This will depend on the deals struck when it came to creating the shows. With the two movies already on DVD, it is possible that the deal was made to eventually make sure the series heads to DVD as well.

This probably won’t be for at least six months, though. Some streamers wait a year to release their content in physical format. They want to keep people on the streamer for as long as possible.

What we shouldn’t expect to see is a Digital release. While DVDs can take some viewers away from the streamer, there is still a need for Peacock when they’re on the go. With a Digital release, people can watch anywhere without a subscription, so it’s a riskier option for companies.
