Will Expats be renewed for Season 2 on Prime Video?

Expats is certainly the series to watch right now. The Amazon series has two episodes left to go, and we’re ready for them.

Of course, with how amazing the story has been, we want more. That’s especially the case with the excellent casting. So, what are the chances of Expats Season 2 happening? Will Amazon renew the drama?

Expats Season 2 probably won’t happen

Things aren’t looking good for a renewal, but this isn’t due to Amazon’s decision. The series is billed as a miniseries, which means it was always designed to have just one season. The show is based on the novel The Expatriates by Janice Y.K. Lee, and we see a lot of shows based on books become limited series.

Of course, this doesn’t stop the show from getting a second season. It’s all going to depend on whether there is a storyline there as well as the viewing figures. If Amazon is happy with the performance of the show and the creators have an idea where to go with the story, then there is a chance that a second season will happen.

It’s just unlikely at this point.

We have seen limited series get more seasons. Just look at Big Little Lies, which also starred Nicole Kidman, and Good Omens, which was on Amazon. Both of these shows were initially billed as one-season shows. There ended up being more to both of the stories. Big Little Lies got a second season with a potential third season in the works, while Good Omens has turned into a three-season story.

So, we’ll have to wait and see what the Expats team comes up with. We’re here for more seasons if they happen!
