When should The Watchers come to DVD and Blu-ray?

Are you ready to add another horror movie with twists and turns to your DVD collection? The Watchers is likely on your list.

The movie follows a young woman who finds herself pulled into a house in the middle of a wood. At night, the wood is surrounded by creatures that threaten the lives of those inside the house. Can she and the strangers in the house find a way to survive?

In some good news, The Watchers already has a Digital release date. It will arrive on Digital on Tuesday, July 2. Now eyes are on when it will arrive on DVD and Blu-ray. Will we have to wait too long? Well, we were surprised to get the Digital date so quickly since the movie has only just been released in theaters. We’re not expecting Warner Bros. to set a DVD release date just yet.

When we will likely see The Watchers on DVD and Blu-ray

We need to look at other recent Warner Bros. releases to get an idea of when The Watchers will be available to own on physical disc. For this, we’re looking at Wonka and Dune: Part Two. Now both of these were bigger releases than The Watchers, but they give an idea of how long Warner Bros. is willing to wait.

It took both movies only around two-and-a-half months to go from theaters to DVD. That does suggest that we’ll see something similar with this movie. The Digital release for The Watchers is actually a couple of weeks faster than the previous two movies, but we don’t expect to see the DVD release sped up. Warner Bros. may want to return to the 90-day exclusivity window in theaters soon.

So, with all this in mind, we’re looking at The Watchers taking two-and-a-half-months to go from theaters to DVD. That would suggest a Tuesday, Aug. 20 DVD release date.
