When should The Strangers: Chapter 1 come to DVD and Blu-ray?
If you love The Strangers, you’ll be ready for the next movie in the franchise. This is one of those franchises that plays with you afterward. After all, the killers have zero motive and personal connection to the individuals at all.
The Strangers: Chapter 1 follows a couple that breaks down and has to spend the night in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. That’s creepy enough, but what they don’t expect is to end up with a group of masked killers coming after them. These killers have no motive at all for the harm that they want to cause, and that’s what makes them extra dangerous.
The movie is only just out in theaters. That means it doesn’t have a DVD release date just yet. We’re taking a look at when it could arrive.
The Strangers: Chapter 1 DVD release date predictions
We can look at the studio to see when previous releases have gone from theater to DVD. Most studios follow the same pattern, although I will note that some studios are trying to get back to the 90-day exclusivity window for theaters that they had before the pandemic. This is a slow process, though.
We’re looking at Imaginary and Ordinary Angels for this release, as they’re Lionsgate movies like The Strangers: Chapter 1. It took about two and a half months for both of the movies to head to DVD after their theatrical releases. With that in mind, we could be looking at around Tuesday, July 30 for The Strangers sequel to come to DVD.
What about Digital? That’s usually much faster than the DVD release, although waiting less than three months isn’t bad for a DVD release. It took three to four weeks for the two movies to head to Digital, so we could be looking at around Tuesday, June 11 or Tuesday, June 18 for this movie to come to Digital. What that happens, you’ll be able to buy or rent it on Amazon Instant Video.
The Strangers: Chapter 1 is currently out in theaters.
