When should IF come to DVD and Blu-ray?

IF is currently out in theaters, but this is a movie you'll want to add to your DVD collection. Here's a look at when that could be possible to do.

There are a few great movies out in theaters right now. One for the whole family is IF, which is all about imaginary friends.

The movie follows a young girl who is able to see imaginary friends—anyone’s imaginary friends. She’s not alone, either. Her neighbor can see them too. The two end up on a journey to reunite the forgotten and lost friends with their humans. Of course, proving to their humans that the imaginary friends are actually very real is going to be fun to do!

You will certainly want to add this to your family movie night collection. The question is when that will be possible.

IF DVD release date predictions

There isn’t a set release date just yet. That won’t be surprising to many since it is only just out in theaters. We need to look at movies from the same studio to get a sense of how long it will take for IF to go from theaters to DVD.

We’re looking at Mean Girls and PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie for this one. After all, IF is a Paramount Pictures movie like the other two.

It took about two and a half months for the PAW Patrol movie to head to DVD, while Mean Girls took three and a half months. It could be that Paramount Pictures is aiming to honor the 90-day exclusivity window in theaters once more—that was changed due to theater closures during the pandemic. That could mean that we have to wait until around Tuesday, Sept. 3 for IF to come to theaters.

What about a Digital release? We know that is sooner than the DVD one. With both movies only taking a month to head to Digital, we could be looking at around Tuesday, June 18 for this movie to be available to buy or rent on Amazon Instant Video.
