When should Dune: Part Two come to DVD and Blu-ray?
Eyes are most definitely on the Dune sequel. Dune: Part Two is now out in theaters, but you’ll want to add it to your DVD collection. After all, you already have the first movie.
The sequel picks up where the first movie left us. Everyone thinks that Paul is dead, but that’s not the case. Now he wants revenge, and he will join with Chani and the Freemen to make sure he takes down all those who destroyed his family and set out to kill him.
We could look at the first movie to get an idea of the DVD release date. That doesn’t quite work, though. Dune came out at the end of 2021. The post-pandemic schedule was vastly different, with a short turnaround time between theaters and Digital and DVD. We need to look at more recent releases as the studios look to return to the 90-day exclusivity window for theaters.
When could Dune: Part Two come to DVD and Blu-ray?
We’re looking at The Color Purple and Wonka to get an idea. After all, the two were big Warner Bros. movies at the end of 2023.
Both movies took or are taking about two and a half months to go from theaters to DVD. We’re looking at something similar for Dune: Part Two, then. That would suggest that we’ll see the movie out on DVD and Blu-ray around Tuesday, May 14 or Tuesday, May 21.
What about on Digital? After all, doesn’t that always get released before the DVD? Yes, but this isn’t as consistent as the DVD releases. The Color Purple only took a couple of weeks to go to Digital, while Wonka took around six weeks. Some Digital releases are taking two months.
