Abigail already has a Digital release date but when should it come to DVD?
Fans of horror movies headed to theaters throughout this last week. Abigail finally hit theaters, and it was everything we wanted and more.
This is one of those horror movies that will sit with you for a while. You’ll start questioning who you can trust, and you play a game of how you would survive. Of course, you’ll also sit there and realize that the victims got what they had coming to them. We shouldn’t victim blame, but if you’re going to kidnap a young girl, expect her to turn the tables on you.
These people did end up kidnapping the daughter of Count Dracula. What did they expect? And no, none of that is a spoiler. You get all that from the trailer! So, now you need to find out just how it all plays out and whether Abigail gets away with everything or not. Does anyone survive the night?
Abigail DVD release date predictions
You’ll want to add this movie to your DVD and Blu-ray collections. That means getting ready for the release. As it’s only just come out in theaters, there isn’t a release date just yet. However, we do have an idea based on other Universal Pictures movies.
For the sake of this post, we’re looking at fellow horror movies Five Nights at Freddy’s and Night Swim. Five Nights at Freddy’s took about six weeks to go from theaters to DVD. This was a one-off likely linked to Christmas coming up and studios knowing this would be a great Christmas gift. Night Swim took three months, suggesting that Universal Studios is returning to the 90-day exclusivity window.
With this in mind, we’re looking at Abigail coming to DVD and Blu-ray around Tuesday, July 16 at the earliest.
Abigail Digital release date prediction
The Digital release date is already set, and we don't have to wait too long for it at all. Night Swim and Five Nights at Freddy's took between three and four weeks, so that's what we expected with Abigail. The official release date is set for Tuesday, May 7. Make sure you get your pre-order in now.
Abigail is currently out in theaters.
