Classified is a crime thriller. It is set in South Africa, bringing a look at the troubles over there. Mixed with that is a CIA plot that is sure to bring its own tension.
Classified is a coming-of-age story with a spy twist
The series follows 15-year-old Ella Gardner, played by Imani Pullum, who finds herself in some serious trouble after getting involved in a protest. She’s arrested and facing serious jail time, but manages to avoid it thanks to her father making a deal. That deal means that Ella has to leave her California home and head to Johannesburg, South Africa with her family.
Ella has to figure out her new life in a new country. And this country isn’t without its problems. To make matters worse, she finds out that her stepmom is a member of the CIA and was sent there to help deal with a potential terrorist and assassination plot. Her stepmom wants Ella to help with getting to the bottom of it, as it turns out a boy at school may know more than he realizes.
If you live out of the United States and feel like you’ve watched the series, that’s because you potentially have. The series went to Netflix across the continent of Africa, and it has aired on other networks around other parts of the world. A lot of fans are waiting to see if there will be a second season of the series.
