Was Tyler Cameron on The Bachelor? (Which season of The Bachelorette was he on?)
While he’s known for his time on The Bachelorette, Tyler Cameron is now following a new dream. We get to see that play out in Going Home with Tyler Cameron.
His dream is to form his own construction and home renovation company. Of course, being an entrepreneur isn’t that easy. There are a lot of hurdles to jump over, and Tyler learns some of those the hard way.
At least he has experience in the reality TV space. If you want to get to know a little more about him before starting the series, you’ll need to turn to Hulu and watch the season of The Bachelorette he was on. Was he ever The Bachelor? We take a look.
Tyler Cameron’s season of The Bachelorette
Cameron was one of Hannah’s potential suitors on The Bachelorette. That was Season 15 of the series, which has entered its second decade now.
Cameron even made it close to being the one to propose. He was the runner-up in the season, which meant that there was an opportunity for him to become The Bachelor. Before the pandemic, the next lead was usually one of the runner-ups of the previous season.
Cameron and Hannah remain closer friends. This is despite Hannah’s engagement to the man who did win, Jed Wyatt, coming to an end.
Why wasn’t Tyler Cameron the lead on The Bachelor?
Did Bachelor Nation decide that he wasn’t a good fit for the lead? Host at the time, Chris Harrison, didn’t think he would be a suitable lead. Cameron had been linked to Gigi Hadid, among other big names. However, according to Cameron, he was asked to be the next Bachelor, but he turned it down.
According to USA Today, he shared that his heart wasn’t in it. He was very mature about the situation, sharing that being the lead would mean being in for the journey 100%. It wouldn’t be fair on the women if he couldn’t give them his all. I respect him a lot for saying that.
He also made a comment about not going on the show if you have a girlfriend. This was a nod to Wyatt, who reportedly had a girlfriend during his time on the series. That ultimately ended things between Wyatt and Hannah. At the time Cameron made the comments, he was spotted with Hadid.
It looks like it all worked out for Cameron. He ended up moving back to his hometown due to family illnesses, and now he has his own company and his own show.
Going Home with Tyler Cameron drops on Prime Video on Thursday, April 18.
