Trap isn't coming to Prime Video, but will be available via Amazon in two ways
There’s a new M. Night Shyamalan movie out. It’s all about Josh Harnett in the psychological thriller Trap.
Of course, as it’s a Shyamalan movie, you’ll want to head to theaters to watch it. Then you’ll want to watch it again at home. You need to go into the movie first without spoilers so you can see if you can work out the twist. Then you’ll want to see if there were clear signs from the twist from the beginning.
The bad news is that you won’t be able to watch this movie on Prime Video as the first streaming home. We will have ways of watching with Amazon, though.
Trap will be available via Amazon Channels for streaming
Let’s start with the first streaming home. Trap is a Warner Bros. movie, which means that the first streaming home is going to be Max. There is some good news here, as Max is one of the Amazon Channels subscriptions.
So, keep your Prime Video subscription. Then add Max on top of that. This helps to keep everything in one place, rather than going to yet another app to watch what you want.
The release is usually six to eight months after the theatrical release, so we’re looking at early 2025.
Trap will be on Digital via Amazon Instant Video
The other way to watch the movie on Amazon is going to be via its digital release. Trap will head to Digital, and that means you’ll be able to watch it with Amazon Instant Video. This is completely separate to Prime Video, and it’s arguably a better option for those who know they want an M. Night Shyamalan movie at home. You don’t need a subscription. You simply buy the rights to the digital release, and you can watch as much as you want for as long as you have your free Amazon account.
This release is usually around two months after the theatrical release. You’ll be able to watch it sooner at home compared to waiting for its Max streaming date.
