Yes, there is a series, but we’re not talking about that in this list. It’s all about the movie to get ready for Super Bowl 2024. The movie does follow a similar storyline and came before the series.

Friday Night Lights follows a small Texas town that obsesses over the Friday night high school games. It is on an unhealthy level, but the town doesn’t want to admit that. Things take a turn when the star tailback, Boobie Miles, is seriously injured in the first game of the season. All hope is lost for the high school, and the town’s problems start to flare up because of this. Gary Gaines needs to instill hope on the rest of the team. One player doesn’t make a team.

Safety

Some football stories are based on true events, and that’s certainly the case for the last movie suggestion on the list, Safety. It follows Ray McElrathbey, who plays football at Clemson University. He has a dream to play football, but that’s not so easy when he has responsibilities at home.

He has to care for his 11-year-old brother, Fahmarr. They say raising kids takes a village, and that’s what we get to see in the movie. Ray finds his dream is possible thanks to the support of his teammates and the community around them. It is possible to have it all, but you don’t need to do it all yourself.
