Jack Ryan

We’ll stick with the Amazon book-to-series shows for now. There is no doubt that you already watched Jack Ryan. The series stars John Krasinski and is based on the Tom Clancy novels.

This series was given time to breathe and grow. Over the course of four seasons, we watched as Jack grew from a CIA analyst to an in-field savior. He wanted to focus on doing what he felt was right, and he even landed himself in trouble doing it. We’ve watched him handle conspiracies from within, be framed as a terrorist, and much more.

The series has come to an end, but the franchise is surely not over. There are talks of a spin-off.

Watch Jack Ryan on Prime Video.

Banshee

Do you enjoy the small-town feel of the first season of Reacher? It always seems like a lot more goes on, and that’s certainly the case in the next show on the list of those to watch. It’s all about the Cinemax series Banshee.

Antony Starr (yes, Homelander!) stars as a man who gets out of prison and takes on a new identity. When Lucas Hood is randomly killed in a bar fight, Starr’s character is able to take on his identity and become the Sheriff of Banshee, a town in Pennsylvania Amish country.

Of course, he brings his own ideas about justice, leading to a lawless town. There are some excellent fight sequences, and we see Starr take on someone who isn’t quite as psychotic as Homelander but is certainly a sociopath.

Banshee is on Max.
