Not ready for Alex Rider to end? Here are 5 shows to get your Alex Rider fix
The 100
Alex Rider fans fell in love with the hope that this teenage boy would figure out who his father was and what was really going on in the world. We wanted him to find his own path, but we needed him to get some answers. This is something fans of The 100 wanted at first, as well.
The series is set centuries in the future. People no longer live on Earth after a nuclear war. They live in Arks in space. However, there are problems with the Arks, and now the humans need to find out if Earth is livable. They decide to send a group of 100 teenagers, who are all prisoners awaiting trials as to whether they’ll be executed or allowed to return to society, to Earth to find out if humans can live down there or not.
What the teenagers find is much more than whether there is an issue with radiation. They learn that humans have still lived on Earth, and there are some who managed to deal with the radiation down there.
The 100 is available to stream on Netflix.
Reacher
How about another successful book-to-show adaptation? Reacher is a slightly more grownup version of Alex Rider, following a drifter who is also a veteran and wants to just protect the innocent people in the world.
In the first season, we see him arrested as he’s accused of murder. Only it turns out that he didn’t do it. He does want to get to the bottom of it, though, as a murder victim is his own brother.
The second season follows him figuring out another case that’s personal to him. Former members of his military unit are being captured and murdered. He and the remaining members need to figure out whether one of their own turned into a bad guy, and what the actual bad guys really want.
There is a third season in the works.
Reacher is available to stream on Prime Video.
