Most sold Amazon books: 2 new additions last week

There were two new additions to the list of most sold Amazon books starting Sunday, Jan. 7. However, the week also brought some notable reentries.

First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston was the first new addition of the week. It broke into the Top 3, which is a excellent achievement for a new book. Rebecca Yarros’s books remain in the top two spots, which isn’t surprising considering their popularity on BookTok.

First Lie Wins is a fast-paced thriller. These are popular books, but we tend to see them drop off the list quickly for the most part. It will be interesting to see what happens here.

Butcher & Blackbird enters, The Silent Patient reenters

Another new addition to the list was Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver. This is great for those looking for a friends-to-lovers romantic novel. It’s also a comedy mixed with murder and spice. After all, don’t all serial killers need friends? I wouldn’t be surprised to see this book move up the list.

There were some notable reentries at the bottom of the list. The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides reentered in 18th place. This was one of the books on the list of popular BookTok books from 2023. So, there are likely a lot of people checking it out if they missed it.

The Housemaid’s Secret by Freida McFadden reentered just behind it, with The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese just behind that. Further up the list Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt reentered the list. It looks like a lot of people are searching for books from the last few years to read.
