It shouldn’t be too surprising to see Dune by Frank Herbert soaring up the list of most read Amazon books. It meant a big change to the Top 5, though.

The novel is popular due to the release of Dune: Part Two in theaters on Friday, March 1. Of course, fans are heading back to the book to see all the changes between book and movie. They want to see how the story was originally told and compare notes.

We see this happen a lot. As soon as a movie or show based on a book is released, the book gains popularity. In fact, in some cases, many people don’t realize that the content is based on source material so head out to read it before they watch the adaptation.

Harry Potter and Sarah J. Maas books mixed

There was a lot of change on the list of most read Amazon books last week with Dune soaring up. It meant a change to the Top 5. The only book that remained steady was The Women by Kristin Hannah, which holds onto third place.

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros was knocked out of the top spot thanks to Dune. Meanwhile, A Court of Thorns and Roses and A Court of Mist and Fury, both by Sarah J. Maas dropped down two and one places respectively to just hold onto Top 5 spots.

Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros didn’t just slightly drop out of the Top 5, though. It lost a surprising three places to land in eighth place. A Court of Wings and Ruin by Maas gained two spots to get into sixth place.

The Harry Potter books saw some mixed results on the list. Most of the books dropped down the list, and two are still nowhere on the list of most read Amazon books anymore. Only Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban gained two spots to get back into 18th place.
