You can test out a lot of streaming platforms and subscription services before paying for them. Amazon Prime is one like that. Of course, Amazon has come under fire for charging credit cards after the trial runs out.

Amazon offers a 30-day free trial for its entire Prime membership. You’ll get access to Prime Video, the free shipping, groceries, and more. This is a great time to test out everything to see if the cost of the monthly (or yearly, to save money) membership is worth it.

One of the things you need to do when you take advantage of the free trial is to cancel it. This is easy to do, and you can do it as soon as you sign up for the free trial without losing that trial. It gives you one less thing to worry about.

How to cancel Amazon Prime

So, just how do you cancel Amazon Prime? Is it difficult to do? Amazon makes it very easy to manage, but you need to remember to do it. Your credit card information is stored, so if you don’t cancel, you’re approving Amazon to take the money from your card.

Start on the Amazon Homepage and click on Accounts & Lists in the top right corner under your name.

From there, got to Prime membership.

Go to the personal membership section and click Manage Membership. That’s where you’ll see the End Membership option.

There will be a few pop-ups to get you to stick around. You’ll be warned that you can’t get the free trial again, and you’ll be told the date when your free trial runs out. Make sure you keep clicking the option to end your membership. This is usually a smaller button than the others to trick you not to do it.

Stay on the page until you get the confirmation that your membership will end at the end of the 30 days. You should also get an email with this confirmation.

Do you lose access to the Amazon Prime free trial?

As people look at how to cancel Amazon Prime free trial, they wonder what that means for the free trial that they are experiencing. If you cancel early, do you lose access?

Not at all!

You will get the full 30-day free trial no matter when you cancel. You’ll see that Amazon notes that your trial runs to a specific date. If you do decide that you’ve made a mistake and want Prime within that time, you can go back and renew the membership.

The free trial ends on the date that it would have done even if you didn’t cancel the membership. This is why it’s a great idea to cancel right away. You don’t forget the date, then!

The same applies if you were charged for a month. You can cancel at the start of the month and you’ll still have access that whole time. You just won’t get charged the next month and that’s when you’ll lose access to all your Amazon Prime benefits.

If, in the future, you decide that you want Amazon Prime, you won’t get the free trial again. You’ll need to sign up for the full membership.

How to cancel subscriptions on Amazon Prime

From there, you can see all the subscriptions that you have and cancel each one individually. Not only will you see Amazon Channels, but you’ll see Amazon Music, Audible, and more. It all depends on the type of subscriptions that you have.
