Amazon is adding 40 titles to Freevee today

We don’t always want to get another streaming platform. The new year is here, and it’s always the time of year we’re at our most cash-strapped. The good news is Freevee makes it easy to watch movies for free.

This is Amazon’s ad-supported, free streaming platform. There are some great movies joining the streamer today, whether you want a feel-good story, a drama, or something in between.

There are a total of 40 titles joining Freevee on Monday, Jan. 1. Yes, there is something for the kids as well as the adults. The full list gets a little overwhelming, so we’ve picked out some top releases before getting into everything available.

A Dog’s Journey, Madagascar movies, and more

Let’s start with A Dog’s Purpose, which sees one dog figure out his life’s purpose over the course of being reincarnated. He forms a special bond with Ethan. A Dog’s Journey is then the sequel to the story, which sees this dog as Bailey, the loving four-legged member of Ethan’s family. He forms a bond with Ethan’s granddaughter CJ who is taken away by her mother. As Bailey gets ready for his next life, he makes a promise to find CJ.

How about something for the kids? Well, the second and third Madagascar movies are on Freevee today. They are great fun as kids gets to watch the group of animals on new adventures.

If you want something with a little more action, get ready for Captain Phillips. This Tom Hanks movie sees him as a captain of a ship taken by Somali pirates. He needs to figure out how to survive and potentially escape while the Navy deploys a mission to save him. Time is not on their side.

If you’re more in the mood for a romantic drama, you’ll want to check out Before I Fall. Zoey Deutch is Sam, a girl who seems to have everything. However, she dies in a car crash and finds herself reliving the same day over and over again. It turns out there are secrets that could unravel everything about the accident and things that seemed off in her life but she didn’t want to accept while alive.
