DVD releases happening this week: the Marsh King's Daughter and more
It’s a new week, a new month, and a new year. There are some great DVD releases happening throughout this first week of January.
The Marsh King’s Daughter is the biggest release of the week. Daisy Ridley stars as a woman who looks to have a ordinary life with her daughter. However, it turns out that she has a dark secret. She is the daughter of the “Marsh King,” and now he’s out in the world again.
The Marsh King kept Helena and her mother captive in the wilderness for years. Helena fears what it means for her and her daughter now, so she decides to take matters into her own hands.
The Agnostic, The Holdovers, and more
If you’re more in the mood for a drama, you’ll want to turn to The Agnostic. The movie follows a recent widow. She’s simply trying to move on, but she’s soon contacted by a strange man. It turns out that he is the husband of this woman’s late husband’s mistress. Will the two be able to find happiness as they figure out what the husband and mistress were up to?
How about a comedy? Paul Giamatti and Dominic Sessa star in The Holdovers. This movie follows an instructor at a New England prep school who is forced to babysit a bunch of students during Christmas break. He ends up forming an unlikely bond with the brainy troublemaker and the school’s head cook, who is dealing with loss of her son.
