Borderlands won't head to Prime Video, but it will be available with Amazon Channels

The time has come for the Borderlands movie. With some hope, it’s going to be just as good as the adaptations of The Last of Us and Fallout.

Of course, the only way to watch it first is going to be in theaters. Why would we want to watch it any other way? This was made for the big screen.

Once you’ve done that, you’ll probably want to watch it at home. This means knowing where it still stream online. There are going to be ways to watch it with Amazon.

Borderlands will be available via Amazon Channels

While the first streaming home is definitely not going to be Prime Video, Borderlands will head to Amazon in a way. This is a Lionsgate movie, and the first streaming home for that studio is Starz. At least, that’s the case in the U.S. After that, it heads to The Roku Channel.

Starz is one of the Amazon Channels available. You’ll pay the same price you would for Starz directly. The benefit with Amazon Channels is that everything stays in one platform.

It could head to Prime Video in the future, but this isn’t guaranteed. After the initial release, it will all depend on licensing deals.

Borderlands will come to Amazon Video

There is another way to watch movies on Amazon, though. It’s all about Amazon Instant Video, which is where you can get movies to rent or buy. This is separate to Prime Video, and you don’t need a subscription for it.

Yes, Lionsgate movies do head to Digital after a theatrical release. This is usually much sooner than it heads to streaming, and we’re looking at it being available to buy or rent on Amazon Instant Video in one to two months. Once you buy it, you don’t need to worry about buying it again. Watch it for as long as you have your free Amazon account!
