Amazon delivers great news for Invincible fans

Invincible was such a hit when it arrived in 2021 that we knew a renewal was coming. Then there came some bad news. There would be a long wait for the second season.

This wait was extended due to the strike action in 2023. Invincible Season 2 dropped in two parts, with the first half arriving in November and then the second half waiting until March 2024. If you worried that this mean the series would come to an end soon, you weren’t alone.

The one thing we had going for us was that Amazon had already renewed the animated series for two seasons. We were also promised that the wait for Invincible Season 3 wouldn’t be as long as the wait for Season 2.

There’s even better news for the future of Invincible

Despite that third season not on its way just yet, we did get some news about the Amazon series during SDCC 2024. That news came with something good about the future. The series was not negatively impacted by the wait.

Invincible Season 4 is officially happening. This is well ahead of the third season coming out. It is not billed as a final season, either, although that could come closer to the time.

Don’t expect this season to arrive within the next couple of years. With Season 3 still in the works, we’re looking at the end of 2025 at the earliest for that season. We’re probably looking closer to 2026. That means we could have to wait until 2027 for Season 4.

Usually, early renewals should mean that the wait is cut shorter, but animated shows take a long time to produce. It also doesn’t help that the series is packed with a popular and busy cast, which delays some of the filming due to schedules.

There are no details about Season 4 as of yet. That shouldn’t be surprising since this is a show that keeps everything under wraps and we don’t know much about Season 3 yet!
