A Very Royal Scandal is a limited series, but there could be more in the franchise
If you loved A Very Royal Scandal, you likely want more. After all, what happens to Prince Andrew next?
You just have to look at the last five years of history to see what happens (or more like what doesn’t). It remains to be seen if King Charles is going to do anything further as more and more stories about that Newsnight interview come up.
Don’t expect a second season of A Very Royal Scandal
There isn’t likely to be a second season to this story. A Very Royal Scandal has been billed as a limited series. Now sure, we’ve seen limited series get new seasons in the past. It’s happened with the likes of Big Little Lies, Good Omens, and more recently Shogun. However, I don’t see it happening with this show.
This is created by the same minds behind A Very English Scandal and A Very British Scandal, two shows focuses on other scandals within the world of politics and aristocracy.
There could be another Scandal series
While we shouldn’t expect a second season of A Very Royal Scandal, we may see another series within this franchise. This has become something very much like American Horror Story and American Crime Story. Each season is an anthology, but they are all created by the same team. The scandal focus is a major part of the show.
Blueprint was behind the three Scandal shows, and there are plenty more out there to tell. The show has to be factual and something that was publicized to the people. It looks like it also needs to be British, although that’s just based on the past three stories. There are plenty of scandals around the world that Blueprint could touch on.
The first two seasons have been set in the 1960s and the 1970s, while the third is from events in 2019. That leaves plenty open for a fourth season within the franchise.
