If you’re in the mood for a comedy-horror, then you’ll want to check out The Horror of Dolores Roach. This is a Sweeny Todd remake with a gender flip.

Dolores is fresh out of prison and has no idea what she’s going to do with herself. Well, she ends up getting a room in the basement of an enchilada place, which happens to be run by a man who had a crush on Dolores when he was a kid. As he realizes how good she is at massages, he encourages her to offer her services to make some cash. That’s when things take a turn as one of her clients ends up dead and she needs to figure out what to do with the body.

The series was unfairly canceled after one season, but the ending does just about work.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith

The newest Amazon Original Series out is Mr. and Mrs. Smith. This was released as a binge-watch last week, and you’ll want to spend Super Bowl weekend checking it out.

Yes, it’s a sort of reboot of the 2005 movie. There are some substantial changes, though. Jane and John are recruited to become spies, and their task involves them pretending to be married. They don’t know each other, and it’s clear they don’t really like each other. The big question is which is harder: espionage or marriage?

The first season of Mr. and Mrs. Smith has just been released. We’re waiting on renewal news for this one.
