A group of teenagers driving around backwoods Texas (always a good sign in a horror movie) in search of roadside attractions happens upon the Firefly family. But soon, the teenagers became the roadside attraction as the family of serial killers tortures and murders the travelers.

Often pegged as an exploitation horror movie, since it touches on a number of genres and trends, House of 1,000 Corpses was shelved for three years before ultimately becoming a dark horse cult favorite. While not particularly appropriate for everyday viewing (unless you can stomach it), it’s perfect for your next lights-out scary movie night!
