The Coen Brothers have a unique way of blessing the screen every time they create a film, however, there might not be a comedy in their catalog quite as lasting or iconic as The Big Lebowski, which premiered at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival.

Jeff Bridges stars in the lead as “The Dude” who is continuously tortured and chased by various groups of people and thugs as he’s mistaken for the wrong “Lebowski.” What ensues is a hilarious and absurd series of events as The Dude and his pals try to get to the bottom of the situation and make it out of everywhere they go alive—even if they are in way over their heads.

Though The Big Lebowski was critically well received when it was first released, it’s only gotten more popular as the years have gone on and it’s developed a cult following and a strong place in pop culture.
