Sometimes you just want a movie that is going to make you laugh, and that’s exactly what you get with King of Thieves. Don’t go into it expecting another Italian Job. This is an over-the-top comedy that never takes itself seriously, but it does offer a lot of heart and chuckles.

Based on the real-life Hatton Gardens heist, Caine plays Brian Reader, who knows exactly how to break into jewelry stores and come away with everything. However, getting into the jewelry store and stealing the items isn’t the problem. It’s going to be getting rid of the stuff.

It’s not surprising that the drama happens after the heist, and that’s not because the cops are onto them. There’s the problem of no honor among thieves.

This isn’t an award-winning movie, but you don’t always need that. You can put it on and just sit back one night. There’s no need to think or take it too seriously or even look out for the plotholes.

Caine and Cox are the perfect leading men in this movie, although the supporting cast certainly offers their fair weight in the production.
