Fighting With My Family initially looks like a movie for wrestling fans, but it’s something bigger. Based on the true story of Saraya “Paige” Bevis’ rise to fame in the WWE (formerly the WWF). It’s a look at the steps she took to reach for her dream, and the family that did and didn’t (initially) support her.

Naturally, there are some liberties taken with the movie, but they don’t take away from the overall story. Those who want to learn more have the chance to do that, but those who just want to watch a family dramedy get the chance to do that too.

Florence Pugh made a name for herself with this movie, leading to other great performances throughout 2019. It also has a standout cast with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stepping in as a role he played back during his time in the WWF. While not just for wrestling fans, those who watched it in the 90s will certainly get some sense of familiarity and have some throwbacks.

It’s an entertaining movie that focuses on the willpower to succeed. There are plenty of things we can all learn, and now the movie is on Amazon Prime Video.
