Starring Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Christopher Walken, and Abbie Cornish, Seven Psychopaths leans more into black comedy territory and dabbles in meta-storytelling. In short, Martin McDonagh’s follow-up to his acclaimed black comedy In Bruges isn’t the light and mindless romp of the preceding film on this list.

When his ragtag group of friends swipes a crime boss’ prized dog, a starving artist screenwriter (Farrell) finds himself caught in the mix of the underground world of Los Angeles crime that he’s only written about.
