Perhaps one of the most ubiquitous and frightening families in pop culture, the Addams Family came to life on the big screen in 1991 after a string of cartoons and sitcoms. Finally, we saw Morticia, Gomez, Uncle Fester, Wednesday, and the whole creepy crew in all their glory.

In The Addams Family, the most successful iteration of the dark fantasy comedy to date, Gomez (Raul Julia) and Morticia Addams (Anjelica Houston) concoct a scheme to wake the dead as a morbid welcome wagon for who they think is Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd) after his 25-year disappearance in the Bermuda Triangle.
