Emily Blunt stars as Rachel, a woman who is recently divorced and has troubles with alcohol. You could say it’s more than troubling when she is prone to blackouts and can’t remember things as a result. Her marriage fell apart because she caught believed her husband Tom (Theroux) having an affair with their real estate agent. She also believes he couldn’t deal with her alcoholism and because she was unable to have children.

Unable to move on, Rachel spends her days spying on her ex-husband and his new wife Anna (Ferguson) and their newborn child. While she does this, she becomes infatuated with their neighbors who seemingly have a perfect marriage and life. As it turns out Scott and Megan have anything far from a perfect marriage. And Rachel quickly finds out just how imperfect their lives are when she finds herself in the middle of a missing person’s investigation after she had an alcohol-induced blackout after taking a train ride.

This mystery will have you at the edge of your seat until the end credits.
