Citadel Season 2 release updates, casting, and everything we know

As we end another year, we start to look at the shows that we’ll get back. Citadel Season 2 probably isn’t one of those shows, but here’s what we do know about the series so far.

There were a few new shows that made it to Amazon in 2023. Some of them got far more promotion than others, and Citadel was one of them. The Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas series certainly drew in fans of the action genre.

Those who did watch were intrigued. However, it didn’t quite get the viewership that Amazon would have wanted it to. However, Amazon had already renewed the show and production moved to California. Production was put on hold due to the dual strike action over the summer, but now work can start again.

When will Citadel Season 2 come to Prime Video?

We shouldn’t expect the series in 2024. This is one of those shows that takes a long time in both production and post-production. It’s a huge budget show and needs the time to create a high-quality production.

We will also get the spin-off series Citadel: Diana in 2024. That’s already been confirmed, so we’ll probably see the second season of the main series in 2025.

How many episodes will Season 2 of Citadel have?

The first season only had six episodes, which is a little shorter than a lot of other Amazon shows. However, the big budget will have played a part in this. More episodes would have made that budget even larger!

We’re probably going to see six episodes for Season 2, too.

Could this be the final season of the series?

Amazon had high hopes for the show. There’s no doubt that the cast was a huge draw for it. However, the show didn’t quite get the viewership Amazon wanted. On top of that, we’re seeing a bigger break than initially expected between seasons. This could lead to the show ending with its second season.

There is no official word on that just yet. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on plans.

Who will return for Citadel Season 2?

As of right now, the main cast is all set to return to the series. We will see:

• Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Nadia Sinh
• Richard Madden as Mason Kane/Kyle Conroy
• Stanley Tucci as Bernard Orlick
• Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer

We’re keeping an eye on plans for the recurring characters throughout the series. There were a lot of side plots going on, so hopefully, those characters will be back.

What to expect in Citadel Season 2

There are no details of the storyline just yet, but there were a lot of reveals in the first season that will lead to storylines in the second. The biggest is Mason being the son of Dahlia. That probably wasn’t all that surprising as the storyline progressed, and we’re intrigued to see what Mason does with his recovered memories and figuring out who he is.

On top of that, we learned that he was the mole. Why did he do it? What did he expect to achieve? What will happen now, especially since we know that Nadia knows that Mason was the mole. That was the whole reason she ended the engagement.

Then there’s the fact that Nadia has a child, and that child is Mason’s. We have a lot of questions about what that means for the two of them and what Mason and even Dahlia will do with all this information.

What about Bernard? Well, he was last seen being tortured by Dahlia. Will he get free, and will Mason have a part in that?
