Merry Little Batman ending explained: Does Damian save Christmas?

When it comes to a Christmas story, you just know that it’s going to involve someone trying to ruin the season for others. In this case, it’s the DC villains trying to ruin Christmas for Gotham City. With Batman out for the evening, it’s up to Damian Wayne, Bruce’s son, to prove himself worthy.

Of course, that means some fun escapades while Damian shows that he is just as good as his dad. Does Damian manage to save the day himself, or does Batman need to step in?

How does Merry Little Batman end?

Damian learns that The Joker is responsible for all the Christmas gifts going missing around Gotham City. Off he heads to confront the villain, knowing that it’s a trap and falling for everything The Joker throws at him.

It leads to young Damian trapped with The Joker, Poison Ivy, The Penguin, and Bane. There are all the gifts stolen, too, but Damian can’t focus on that. He needs to find a way to get out of the trap. There may be a way when the villains offer Damian a chance to join them. Will he turn against everything Bruce has stood for and become a villain?

Wouldn’t it make sense? The people of Gotham City already look at Damian as a villain due to the way he caused so much property damage when taking down Penguin.

Damian doesn’t give in. He destroys his belt and the globe at the same time. This brings Batman into the mission, and we get to see father and son team up against the villains.

There is a touching moment at the end of Merry Little Batman as the villains are loaded into police cars. All The Joker has wanted is Batman’s companionship. Damian convinces his dad to offer that at the end of the movie before The Joker is carted away.
