The Boys Season 4 release updates, cast, and everything we know

All eyes are on The Boys Season 4 and when it could premiere. We know that it’s coming in 2024, but what else has Amazon released so far?

If there’s one Amazon Original Series we’re looking forward to in 2024, it’s The Boys. The fourth season is highly anticipated, especially after the success of the spin-off series Gen V. The two shows interconnect a lot, and the finale of Gen V gave us an idea of what to expect in the fourth season of the parent series.

What do we know so far? Here’s everything that’s been released, and while we don’t have a set premiere date, we know a lot about the show so far.

When will The Boys Season 4 premiere on Prime Video?

Amazon has shared that The Boys Season 4 will premiere in 2024. That’s all we know at this point. The series is going through some post-production right now, so there is a chance that early 2024 is possible. However, we’re probably looking at late spring or early summer.

How many episodes will be in Season 4 of The Boys?

The season will have eight episodes just like previous seasons.

We’re sure to see them released the same way as previous seasons. Look out for three episodes to drop at once and then the remain five to be released weekly.

When will Season 4 take place in the Gen V timeline?

This season is set to pick up about a month after the Gen V Season 1 finale. That show left us with questions about our four Supe heroes, but The Boys isn’t going to answer those questions.

We do know that the election has taken place. We’ll see a victory for the Supes based on the key art for the season.

Who will return for The Boys Season 4?

While there were some casualties in The Boys Season 3 finale, there are still many characters expected to come back. They are:

• Chace Crawford as The Deep
• Jessie T. Usher as A-Train
• Karl Urban as Billy Butcher
• Jack Quaid as Hughie
• Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk
• Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko
• Tomer Capone as Frenchie
• Colby Minifie as Ashley
• Claudia Doumit as Victoria Neuman

Will Queen Meave and Black Noir return? Well, Queen Meave had the chance to live a life in obscurity. She’s presumed dead, although it turns out that she survived the fall with Soldier Boy but without her abilities. It’s a great storyline for her to come out with.

Black Noir is dead. Well, the Black Noir we know is dead. That doesn’t mean Black Noir won’t be back. Vought will have a way to bring him back with someone else under the mask.

The other question mark is Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy. The last we saw of him, he was put on ice. However, this probably isn’t the end of the Supe that can literally take away powers.

Who will join The Boys Season 4?

There are some new characters joining the series. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is joining but in some unannounced role that’s somehow linked to Butcher. It only makes sense for Eric Kripke to bring more Supernatural actors back. He loves working with those he’s had a good working relationship with in the past.

We’ll also see Valorie Curry join as Firecracker and Susan Heyward join as Sister Sage.

Will any of the Gen V characters get cameos? That’s certainly possible but not confirmed just yet. There will probably be some mentions, though. After all, there were plenty of mentions of Homelander and The Seven to give us an idea of the timeline.

What to expect in Season 4 of The Boys

The fourth season will pick up a month after the Gen V Season 1 finale. Homelander is facing trial for lasering the head off a Starlighter. That’s not surprising. After all, he did that in front of everyone without a care in the world, and he needs to face some sort of consequences, right? Not that those consequences will mean anything.

Butcher will know about the virus that was being created in Gen V. As we know, Victoria killed the only man who knew about the virus. At least, that’s what she thought. If you watched the mid-credit scenes from Gen V, you’ll know that Butcher stumbled upon the virus. What will he do with that information?

There are problems with the vigilante group. Annie is now in charge, giving up her Starlight name and becoming Annie January. Butcher is stepping back, but he has the issue of the fact that he’s dying after taking that last injection of temporary V.

Butcher doesn’t have many friends in the group, either. Nobody is happy with his actions, and he and Hughie are still fighting. What could that mean for getting anything done?

Is there a trailer for The Boys Season 4?

Prime Video has released the first trailer for the season. It gives us a look at the civil war starting in the streets, Starlight’s reaction to that, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s mysterious character:
