Will Gen V Season 1 come to DVD and Blu-ray?

Gen V Season 1 has come to an end on Prime Video. Is there a chance that it will head to DVD and Blu-ray? Is The Boys a sign that it will?

When it comes to most Amazon shows, we don’t expect to see them head to DVD and Blu-ray. That’s especially the case when it comes to the big shows. And yet, sometimes, Amazon surprises us.

We’ve seen The Boys head to DVD. The first two seasons of the series headed to DVD together and then the third season followed about a year after it was released on Prime Video. Is this a god sign for Gen V?

When could Gen V Season 1 head to DVD?

It certainly suggests that Amazon could release the show on DVD. After all, if the main series has come out, why wouldn’t the spin-off? Fans will want to add this DVD to their full collection.

So, the question really could be when we could see Gen V Season 1 head to DVD and Blu-ray. I wouldn’t expect this in 2023. We’re probably looking at around a year after the release of the series on Prime Video, so we’re looking at around September 2024 at the earliest.

The problem for Amazon is that it won’t want to release content on DVD as that takes content away from Prime Video on an exclusive basis. However, the world of streaming is constantly changing. It’s possible that there is a push into more DVD releases.

What we probably won’t see if any Digital releases of Gen V. This is more likely to take people away from the Prime Video platform as it offers people a way to stream the show on the go without a subscription. At least with the DVD, a DVD player is needed.
