Why The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel needs a Susie spin-off
Midge Maisel would not have been who she became without Susie Myerson. Now we definitely need a The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel spin-off with Susie.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel came to an end with some ups and downs for Midge and Susie. We learned that they had a falling out, but they managed to make up. In the end, the show was all about their friendship despite living on opposite sides of the planet.
Yet, there is still so much that we would love to see about Susie Myerson. Throughout the five seasons of the show, we got to see her grow from the manager at The Gaslight to a superstar manager. We saw her messed up family life, her run-in with the mob, and much more. So, isn’t it time for a spin-off series?
Susie was the best character on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
While Midge was the star, Susie was the best character on the entire series. She was the mind behind everything; the one who found a way for Midge to succeed.
As her career grew, she took on multiple other clients. It would be great to see how her business grew and succeeded, especially with the mob constantly breathing down her neck. We also have her love-hate relationship with Joel Maisel, and how it all played out for him as he made sure Midge was protected from Susie’s dealings with the mob.
On top of that, there’s Susie’s start in life. What was her life like in her younger years? This would mean finding a different actress to play Susie, though, and is anyone Susie other than Alex Borstein? A mixture of the two timelines in a The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel spin-off would work well, though.
The great thing about this is that Borstein is here for a spin-off should it happen. We’re also here for it!
