We’re certainly happy to hear the most recent news. Gen V Season 2 is officially happening. Amazon made the announcement two weeks before the Season 1 finale, making it clear that this is a popular show on the streamer.

Now all eyes are on when we’ll get to see the new season. Of course, it’s not going to arrive in 2023. What about in 2024? Will we need to wait until the year after? Here’s a look at when we could potentially see it.

When will Gen V Season 2 premiere on Prime Video?

As of right now, the show’s premiere date is in limbo. This is because there is still some strike action going on in Hollywood.

The WGA strike has come to an end. That means the writers can get back to work on the series. We have no idea what the storylines could be as that would depend on how things end in the Season 1 finale. There’s always a cliffhanger with an Eric Kripke series, so we’re expecting one for this The Boys spin-off series.

The bad news is the SAG-AFTRA strike is still ongoing. Usually, after about a month of writing, some filming can start to happen. That’s not going to be the case here unless negotiations start up again soon. So, with that in mind, we’re looking at filming not starting until early 2024. This suggests a 2025 release date.

We know that Amazon has had to change its 2024 schedule. Renewing Gen V now is likely to work into the 2025 schedule, anyway. This is a show that requires a lot of graphics, which means a long post-production time. We just know the series is going to be worth the wait.
