Will The Burial come to DVD and Blu-ray?
The Burial is out in theaters and is coming to Prime Video this week. Will the Jamie Foxx movie come to DVD and Blu-ray in the future?
Amazon has another movie out in theaters. Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones star in The Burial, which is based on a true story about how Willie E. Gary managed to help a small business win against a bigger giant.
It’s a true underdog story. At the same time, it’s one that takes a look at racism, social expectations, and much more. This is one that you’ll want to watch again, and the good news is you can check it out on Prime Video on Friday, Oct. 13.
What if you don’t want to keep your Prime Video subscription going all the time, though? Will you be able to own the movie on DVD and Blu-ray in the future?
The Burial probably won’t come to DVD and Blu-ray
It’s always hard to say if a movie will head to DVD and Blu-ray when it’s been on Prime Video. It doesn’t make sense for Amazon to release content in a way that takes people from the streaming platform.
However, we have seen movies that have gone to theaters for a small, limited release end up with a DVD release. Just look at the most recent one, Air. At the same time, movies have gone to theaters and not been released on DVD, such as Beautiful Boy and Late Night.
What we can say is that we probably won’t see it arrive on Digital. This is the one that really doesn’t make sense for Amazon as it offers a way for people to watch the movie anywhere in the world without an Amazon subscription. At least with the DVD, you need a physical DVD player.
