Are you ready for a movie all about female friendship that is going to tug at the heart strings? Sitting in Bars with Cake is a must-watch. And this is something to share with younger girls in your family so they see what real female friendships are all about. We all need someone in our lives who uplifts us and we do the same for them.

Odessa A’zion plays Corinne, who pushes her best friend Jane (Yara Shahidi) to spend the year baking cakes and taking them to bars. The aim is to get Jane out of her comfort zone so that she can gain more confidence in herself when it comes to meeting people. However, tragedy strikes.

Corinne ends up ill and is diagnosed with a serious illness. Her parents want her to move back home, but the two best friends refuse to be apart. Jane will do what it takes to support her best friend, even if it means waking up in the middle of the night to be there while Corinne is sick.

When is Sitting in Bars with Cake on Prime Video?

This movie officially comes out on Friday, Sept. 8. It will drop at midnight UK time as it is a worldwide original. This is great news for those of us in North America as time zones work in our favor.

Look out for the movie on Thursday, Sept. 7. There’s a good chance that it will drop at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Prime Video. There isn’t any guarantee of this happening, but we see it happen a lot with shows and movies. In fact, I’ve seen The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart drop episodes much earlier!
