At the end of Episode 7, it looked like Belly had made her choice. She picked Jeremiah, but their kissing session was interrupted by Conrad. He had this big plan to get Belly back, only to find out that she potentially moved onto his brother.
Was that the case at the end of the season, though? Would the story work out the same as in the books, or would there be a big change to who Belly would choose? Also, would she get back onto the volleyball team after the coach told her not to come to camp?
Who did Belly choose in The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 finale?
The finale saw the trio separate again but come back together like they promised for July 4. This was the final chance for Belly to make her choice.
While on the beach, Conrad gave Belly the infinity necklace back, but Belly had decided that her heart now belonged to Jeremiah. Conrad left to break down alone, while Belly and Jeremiah rekindled what they had.
It opens the door for Conrad to go to Stanford without dealing with the long-distance relationship with Belly. Yes, he aced his final and was able to transfer. Meanwhile, Belly can focus on getting into Finch College after being able to picture her time there when she looked around with Jeremiah.
This wasn’t easy, though. It took Conrad initially acting like a jerk and the two brothers deciding that it had to be Belly’s choice. They would step back and allow the other to be with Belly if that’s who she chose. Conrad accepted it when he saw that Belly was happier with Jer, and he is who makes her happy.
What about Steven and Taylor in The Summer I Turned Pretty?
It wasn’t all about Belly and the love triangle. The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 finale also included some time with Steven and Taylor. Steven turned up to the restaurant with roses, but Taylor had invited some friends along for it. Their honeymoon phase is over, and they immediately start fighting again.
They do end up making up, though. They’ll have to deal with their own long-distance relationship as Steven goes off to Princeton and Taylor is still in high school.
Does Belly get back onto the volleyball team?
Episodes earlier, Taylor had sent a text to the coach from Belly’s phone as if she was Belly. While trying to save the beach house, Belly wasn’t sure about going to the volleyball camp. That decision seemed to be taken out of her hands, though, when coach told her it would be better to stay away this year.
Belly decided that volleyball was worth fighting for, though. She turned up to camp with Jeremiah and Taylor to support her. Belly was able to release her grief and make it clear that she deserves a spot on the team. Coach decided Belly was right and let her remain at camp, with Jeremiah watching Belly play with pride.
