How many episodes are in Shelter Season 1?

Harlan Coben’s Shelter is coming to Prime Video tonight. Not all episodes are coming out at once, though. How many episodes are there, and when’s the finale?

If you’re a fan of crime thrillers but like it a little more TV-14, you’ll certainly want to check out the upcoming release on Prime Video. It’s all about Harlan Coben’s Shelter. As the title would suggest, it is based on a book by Harlan Coben, and that book is going to be worth the read.

Three episodes will drop tonight at midnight UK time on Friday, Aug. 18. That means around 7 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 17, you’ll be able to watch it. Sometimes the drops are earlier. I was able to watch The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart Episode 4 around 10 a.m. ET last Thursday!

Of course, with it not being a binge-watch release, you’ll want to know when the finale will air. That means knowing how many episodes there are in the season.

Amazon isn’t consistent with its episode counts. In fact, no streamer is, and it seems like even broadcast networks are getting a little too inconsistent with their episode counts. Fewer episodes are disappointing for fans, but they are much cheaper to create—and we know the cost of TV is going up.

So, what are we looking at for this Harlan Coben adaptation? There are eight episodes in the season. After the first three episodes are released, the remaining five episodes will come out weekly. That puts the finale on Friday, Sept. 22.

You will have time to read the book if you prefer to read the source material first. However, you’ll want to watch the episodes as they’re released to prove to Amazon that the YA space is one to get into.
