Amazon’s newest movie arrives in just a few days, and we couldn’t be more excited. Can you watch Red, White, and Royal Blue with kids around? It’s worth looking at what the intended age this movie is for.

There is no doubt that we are ready to see Red, White, and Royal Blue. It’s one of the most highly-anticipated movies of the year. Based on the novel of the same name, it brings gay love to the forefront, along with all the traditional elements of rom-coms.

With it being a global release, you know that the movie is likely to drop on Prime Video on Thursday night. The kids are likely to still be up when it drops, so you need to know if this is going to be suitable for them. We need to look at the age rating set by the motion pictures body to see what it thinks.

Red, White, and Royal Blue age rating

This movie has been given an R rating. That means it is aimed at those 18 years and older.

Of course, your children may have read the book already. There are chances that they want to see the movie even though they’re not 18 yet. So, what’s the reasoning behind the Red, White, and Royal Blue age rating?

It’s all linked to some of the nudity in the scenes. There is also some language and some sexual content. This sounds like good news for fans of the book. The sex scenes aren’t going to be cut out, which is something a lot of fans feared about. It just means that the movie has to have a higher rating.

You may want to check out the movie first. However, you know your kids best. You’ll know what they’ve seen in movies and shows before, and whether this is going to be something for them. As the parent, you get to make the judgment call.
