What happened to Gabriel in Good Omens Season 2?
Gabriel turned up at Aziraphale’s bookshop naked and memory-less at the start of Good Omens Season 2. What happened to the archangel?
Caution: This post contains spoilers from Good Omens Season 2
It was clear early on that Heaven knew exactly what had happened to Gabriel. However, Hell had no idea. Neither did Aziraphale and Crowley, who ended up on a mission to figure out the truth. It was a mission that took Aziraphale to Edinburgh and led to Hell being on Crowley’s tail again.
So, what had happened? What had Heaven done to the archangel, and why? It’s time to break down the reveals from the Season 2 finale.
How Gabriel lost his memories in Good Omens Season 2
It turned out that Heaven was still focused on making the Apocalypse happen. You remember the Apocalypse that was supposed to happen in the first season, but Crowley and Aziraphale managed to thwart it. Well, Heaven wasn’t happy about that, and everyone looked for a way to make it happen.
That is everyone except Gabriel. The Supreme Archangel didn’t want to see the end of the Earth, and that led to him being demoted and losing his memories.
The memories weren’t gone forever. It turned out that his memories were put in a fly. That fly was seen around the bookshop a lot, following Gabriel around all the time. It was only a matter of time before everyone would figure it out and Gabriel would get his memories back.
On top of that, we found out that Aziraphale and Crowley weren’t the only angel and demon fraternizing. Gabriel had a demon of his own. It was all about Beelzebub, and that was why they wanted to find out what had happened to Gabriel.
Good Omens Season 2 is now available to stream on Prime Video.
