Oppenheimer is currently out in theaters to watch, but you’ll want to check it out at home, too. When will it come to DVD and Blu-ray?

You now Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby in Peaky Blinders, but now it’s time to see him in another role. He plays Julius Oppenheimer, a brilliant man from the past who changed war forever. He created the atomic bomb as a way to help with the war, but would later realize the damage that it could do.

The movie follows his creation of the bomb and then his attempt to prevent it from being used. Of course, we know from history that it was used, and now there is always the threat of nuclear war.

This is a movie you’ll want to see in theaters and then you’ll want to watch at home. The question for many is when it will be available on DVD and Blu-ray.

When is Oppenheimer on DVD and Blu-ray?

The Universal Pictures movie is only just out in theaters, so we don’t have a DVD release date just yet. The good news is we can look at other movies from the same studio to get an idea of when to expect it. We’re looking at Knock at the Cabin and The Super Mario Bros. Movie as an idea of when we could expect this one.

It only took two months for The Super Mario Bros. Movie to head to DVD. Meanwhile, it took three months for the M. Night Shyamalan movie to head to DVD and Blu-ray. We’re looking at something similar to the latter for Oppenheimer, which puts us at around Tuesday, Oct. 17 or Tuesday, Oct. 24 as a DVD release date.

What about on Digital, as this is often much earlier? It only took around three weeks for Knock at the Cabin to head to Digital, but the family animated movie took around six weeks. We could be looking at something as late as Tuesday, Sept. 5 for the Cillian Murphy movie to come out on Digital.
