The Lincoln Lawyer Season 1 is coming to DVD and Blu-ray
The Lincoln Lawyer book series by Michael Connelly got a TV adaptation. Not on Prime Video like Bosch but on Netflix. Well, it’s coming to DVD soon.
While Amazon got the rights to the Bosch series of books by Michael Connelly, everything to do with Mickey Haller went to Netflix. That’s why there are no crossovers despite there being some in the books.
We don’t often see Netflix shows head to DVD and Blu-ray. To be honest, we didn’t think that this series would. Why would Netflix want to put its content in a format that means people don’t need the streaming platform? Well, imagine our surprise when we learned that the first season is coming to DVD very soon.
When will The Lincoln Lawyer Season 1 come to DVD and Blu-ray?
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 1 will head to DVD on Tuesday, Aug. 15. That is a bit of a wait, but it makes sense. The second season premieres tomorrow, Thursday, July 6. The first five episodes of the season will arrive, with the second half of the season arriving in August. Of course, Netflix will want to keep as much of its content as exclusive as possible. Releasing the DVD of the first season after the second season arrives is the way to do that.
There will be one bonus feature with the DVD and Blu-ray release. You’ll be able to get your hands on the blooper reel. This is always worth watching, but it is a shame there are no commentaries or deleted scenes as well.
DVD releases for Netflix shows are rare, but they’re great. For a long time, we didn’t have to worry about original content disappearing. Then Max opted to remove content. Disney+ is removing content. It’s only a matter of time before some other streamers start to do the same thing. We need as much available to watch in other formats as possible.
You can’t pre-order the release at the time of writing this, but keep an eye on the listings. It’s sure to be available soon.
