All eyes are on when we’ll get answers to our burning questions in The Lord of the Rings Season 2. When will it premiere on Prime Video?

We are certainly ready for another season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The bad news for us is that it isn’t ready for us. We have to wait a little longer, and to be honest, that is what we expected.

The first season took five years to complete from when the project was announced. Now there was a problem with the pandemic thrown in there, but it was always going to take a long time for the high quality series. We expect something similar for the second season.

That doesn’t mean five years from the end of the first season, though. Some pre-production work is already done thanks to the first season. It wasn’t going to take as long as the first. However, the writers strike could cause some delays.

When will The Lord of the Rings Season 2 come to Prime Video?

The second season is set to come out some time in 2024. Amazon hasn’t officially set the date yet, and it probably won’t until closer to the time. While the first season date was announced a year in advance, there are a few issues with production right now.

All scripts were written before the strike started, so production is going ahead as planned. However, it’s not clear what will happen when it comes to rewrites. The writers aren’t there to handle that, so we could see delays later in the season. Amazon won’t want to announce a date just yet in case filming has to stop due to extensive rewrites being needed.

There may also be a problem is the SAG-AFTRA strike happens in July. That will shut down production of the series.
